Land Clearing & Block Clearing
LCB Contracting clears residential blocks, rural land and paddocks across North West Tasmania. Using excavators with clearing and mulching attachments plus our own tip trucks, we remove vegetation, stumps and scrub, process or cart away the debris, and leave the ground graded and workable, ready for building, fencing or pasture.
Clearing is one of those jobs where the machine choice matters. Mulching vegetation in place often beats carting it away: it cuts truck movements, keeps organic matter on site and reduces cost. Where material does need to go, our own trucks take it, so you’re not paying two contractors to coordinate with each other.
We clear with the end use in mind: building envelopes are stripped and left ready for site prep, paddock clearing is graded for machinery access, and boundary or fence line clearing is cut clean without leaving hazards. Erosion control and retained vegetation are respected. This is our coast too.

Land Clearing FAQs
Do I need a permit to clear land in Tasmania?
It depends on the vegetation and your property. Clearing native vegetation can require approval under Tasmanian regulations, while clearing regrowth, exotics or an approved building envelope often doesn’t. We’ll flag anything on your block that’s likely to need council or NRE approval before work starts.
What happens to the cleared vegetation?
Three options: mulch it in place (usually cheapest and best for the soil), stack and burn where permitted, or load and cart it away with our trucks. Most jobs use a mix, and we’ll recommend what suits your site and budget.
Can you clear just a building envelope?
Yes, that’s common for new builds on bush blocks. We clear and strip only the approved envelope and access, keep the rest untouched, and can move straight into pad preparation in the same mobilisation, which saves you money.
